Link to another page with checked filter

I know that it's a simple question, but I couldn't find an exact answer on it. I have 2 pages, for example: example.com and example.com/catalog Also, I have a link on the first page to a catalog:

<a href="http://ift.tt/1zO7J2i" id="linktofilter">link</a>

Catalog page has items and a filter with checkbox inputs like:

<input type="checkbox" name="Category" value="1" id="sub-1" />

User should get to a catalog page with checked filter on. How to do that simply with JS or php?
