Shuffle advanced filtering

I am trying to make this Advanced Filtering work but there is no way.

I've managed to filter with the data-group style filter-options, but I need to filter at the same time by several checkboxes so the matching items of the first checkbox remain with the matching items of the second clicked checkbox appended. Just like the shape's checkboxes behaviour in this demo.

The former demo is not clear enough for me. Looked for another clarifications all over internet with no success. Could anybody post an easier one?
