How to increase the length of the label (value) for a checkbox in a page layout

My user has requested a checkbox in their page layout with a label (value) that exceeds the 40 character limit. Aside from telling them no-go, has anyone come up with a good way to do this?

I can create a custom label with more characters than the max but don't see an option for a custom checkbox, nor for stacking a custom label with a checkbox.

Have been searching online for a way to do this, without success.
