AppCompact Checkbox View for below 21 API Version

Here I meet some difficulties to set Checkbox background while checking and uncheck the checkbox.

for an AppCompat (>V21) it is worked as good. But for below

How to set different Checkbox drawable icon for <21 and >21 API version?
