Mute/unmute mediaplayer for the whole app with a checkBox

how can I set up that when my CheckBox in Dialog 2 in my main activity is not checked the sound/mediaplayer mp and mp2 are activated for the entire app andwhen the checkbox is checked the selection gets saved and the application is muted also on restart of the app, the checkbox is still selected until the user unchecks it.
