How to handle multiple checkboxes in Apache PDFBox?

I am using the following library to automate filling out of a pdf file I have.

It works perfectly with text and checkbox fields unless I face a multi-checkbox field.

The tool returns only a single name for multiple checkboxes and when I use the .check() method, it checks only the first one.

How can I check the ones other than the first one?
