I need to retrieve the value and set the value in checkbox to be checked and unchecked

Html table contains a with checkbox. I need to set the checkbox to be checked or unchecked based on the values from my the back end. The values from the back end will be Y and N. If Y, the checkbox must be checked and if N, it should be unchecked. How can I achieve this using ngModel.
