What logic should be used with checkbox filtering?

Should I filter checkbox in a way SQL INNER JOIN logic works, or CROSS JOIN?

example: I have 4 checkboxes displayed and some products in a page, then I check 2 checkboxes. Should I display products that include at least one of the 2 values or only products that include both of the 2 values?
