EXTjs grid checkbox isn't selectable until clicking on the row it is in. Any ideas on where the issue could be?

As the title states, I have an ExtJS grid with a checkbox that should be clickable. This issue is very uncomfortable for customers. I have attached an image showing what happens when clicking the checkbox while the grid row isn't selected.

The button outline is selected, but the checkbox doesn't change.
