save state of checkbox across pagination ajax

Good afternoon. My question is the next. im working with grails framework. Im using a pagination with ajax. in each page i show 10 registers from the database. In each page there is a column with checkboxes. When i make click in the checkbox i store the data for a download, the problem is when i change from page, the checkbox of the other page is deselected now, and the data for the download disappear. That i want to do, is for example when i select a checkbox from the first page and next go to the second page to select another checkbox, and then return to the first page, the previously checkbox be until selected. I have the idea of use session, but if someone have another idea, for this question.
