Set accesskey for checkboxes so that it maps with the enter button of a remote

I am building a simple page that should be opened and operated (among others) in televisions. While other elements were created simply and can be selected with the OK/Enter button of the remote, for checkboxes there is no such behavior.

I read here that the enter/OK button of remotes maps to the enter keyboard button. So I thought of setting the accesskey attribute of the checkboxes equal to enter. However, I don't know how to do that. Obviously I can't just write 'enter' (though I tried it).

Where can I get a solution or reading materials to achieve this functionality?
