Excel VBA to Word - Checkboxes when copied not aligned properly and cant edit in Word

The problem is two fold: 1) I have some checkboxes in Excel. I am using Excel VBA to copy a range from excel that has the checkboxes and paste it into word a file. Once the table is pasted in word, the check boxes are not aligned well the same way it is in excel. enter image description here 2) I cannot check the checkboxes again or uncheck them in word - can this be changed?
