How to dynamically set the text of an edittext when a checkbox checked state is changed

Basically I'm trying to change the text from one text to another whenever the checkbox is checked/unchecked but.

I've tried countless possible solutions such as runnables, onResume, conditional and if statements, and creating a separate class just for this plus much more but cant seem to get it to work properly. Also I've searched through countless websites in attempts to find similar problems but have always came up empty or the solutions end up not helping my case.

Any and every possible solution is greatly appreciated!
