Create Check box as span inside edit text

How do you create a Checkbox span and set to the text in android. It should handle click events over checkbox and strike out the text in the Paragraph. Here, I do not want to use Android's Checkbox widget but is there any other means of adding a drawable to ParagraphStyleSpan ?
