Which is the best way to make a checkbox "Remember Me" working whit php? [closed]

which is the best way to make a Remember Me checkbox work in php for the login form?

i'm learning php, i see somthing whit cookies but i read is not so much secure to store password in the cookies so i'm looking for more secure way to do this checkbox work.
