Checkbox in reyclerview index gets cklicked twice

I have a reyclerview list with check box in the cardview, using a simple onClick listener. But when index 0 is clicked index 10 also is shown as clicked. The same if index 1 is clicked so is 11, index 2 so is 12, and vice versa. How do I solve this problem.
